Doctor Duo Joins Bluegrass Family Clinic

Bourbon Community Hospital announced today that Erin Cooper, MD and Geoffrey Cooper, MD has joined their medical staff and will be offering family medicine services to patients in Bourbon and surrounding counties. The Coopers came to Paris from Fremont, Nebraska and have joined Dr. Nathan Moore, Dr. Ray Young and Kristi Wheeler, PA at the Bluegrass Medical Clinic.
Dr. Erin Cooper received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cooper’s post-degree training includes a residency in the Department of Family Medicine and a Geriatric Medicine fellowship in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. During her tenure there, she served as Medical Director for the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice and Medical Director of the Nye Courte Assisted Living Facility, as well as serving on the Nye Senior Services Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Cooper is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Cooper enjoys gardening and cooking.
Dr. Geoffrey Cooper also received his medical degree from Drexel University with a residency in family medicine at the University of Nebraska/Offutt Air Force Base. Dr. Cooper served in the United States Air Force Reserves as a 2nd Lieutenant from 2001-2005 and as a Major in the USAF from 2005-2012. Dr. Cooper was very active in the Freemont community in Nebraska, serving as Director of Fremont Soccer Club and a soccer coach for U10/U8. Dr. Cooper enjoys soccer, golf, cycling and is a private pilot. Dr. Cooper is a board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Drs. Erin and Geoffrey Cooper have two children; Ethan (7) and Hannah (6) and two puppies they recently adopted from the Humane Society. The Coopers are happy to be in Kentucky where they will be closer to family. The Coopers will be at the upcoming Kids’ Health Fair on August 29th and hope to meet many residents of Bourbon and surrounding counties.
Drs. Erin and Geoffrey Cooper are presently accepting new patients of all ages at the Bluegrass Medical Clinic and will be accepting most major insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
